The World Heritage Management Committee was set up in 2018 to prepare the recommendations of the Luxembourg Commission for Cooperation with Unesco for works having a medium or major impact on the "Luxembourg, old quarters and fortifications" property of universal value in Luxembourg. Made up of representatives of the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Mobility and Public Works, as well as several departments of the Luxembourg City Administration, this committee also includes representatives of civil society. Their mandate has just been renewed.

The committee has discussed plans to enhance a section of the Corniche between the viaduct and the Luxembourg National Archives, and has monitored work to develop the archaeological crypt beneath the Cité judiciaire.
"The World Heritage Management Committee is a body of experts who draw up important decisions regarding the management of world heritage, and I am delighted with the dynamism demonstrated by the projects under way. The importance of World Heritage management in terms of climate change, universal accessibility, social inclusion and digital communication is of the utmost importance and we can only encourage it", emphasised Eric Thill, Minister for Culture, during the interview.
