Organisation

The Ministry of Culture is headed by Sam Tanson, Minister for Culture.

The Ministry is divided into different departments and services established according to the specificities of the cultural scene.

 

 

 

General coordination

The general coordination covers the strategic and cross-cutting activities of the Ministry of Culture. Under the direction of the general coordinator, strategic planning for the implementation of the government program and the cultural development plan 2018-2028 is defined. The general coordination ensures the coherence of the actions carried out to this effect by the three directorates of the Ministry. It includes the communication and public relations department, the studies and statistics department, the regional cultural affairs department, the European and international affairs department and the cultural actions and mediation department.

 

Administration and General Affairs Department

The department of administration and general affairs is responsible for the management and logistics of the day-to-day business of the Ministry, including personnel, logistics, finance, legislation and IT.

 

Artistic Creation and Promotion Department

The artistic creation and promotion department implements a policy of supporting, encouraging and promoting artistic creation in the fields of architecture, visual arts, performing arts, design, publishing, crafts, music and film. It is also responsible for an audience development policy.

 

Cultural Heritage Department

The heritage department is responsible for the protection, conservation, enhancement and awareness of our archaeological, architectural, movable, intangible and natural heritage. It is in charge of the management and development of UNESCO's World Heritage and national heritage infrastructures, and carries out the digitalization of cultural heritage.
