Bourglinster Castle

Bourglinster Castle - State Domain

Bourglinster Castle was built in the 12th century and acquired by the Luxembourg State in 1968, which undertook consolidation and restauration works that lasted until 1988. Today, the castle houses a conference centre, banquet rooms and two gastronomic restaurants awarded by the Michelin Guide.

Bourglinster Castle is also the venue for the Festival de musique de chambre (Chamber Music Festival) organised by the Amis du château de Bourglinster (Friends of Bourglinster Castle). Young Luxembourg talent and internationally renowned musicians perform regularly and with great success in the magnificent "Salle des chevaliers" (Knights' Hall) of the castle.

The former stables of Bourglinster Castle are home to a centre for contemporary artistic creation, the "Annexes", which aim to support artists of all disciplines in their professional activities. The free management of this cultural third place by a collective of artists, winner of the call for projects within the framework of "Neistart Lëtzebuerg", allows the discovery and experimentation of new artistic forms and disciplines, while encouraging a mixture of practices, activities and audiences.

In the Pabeierscheier (Paper Barn), used books are sold by the Amis du livre (The Friends of the Book) at low prices.

Guided tours of Bourglinster Castle are available by appointment. For further details, an information brochure can be downloaded under this link.
